Katie’s meeting with the judge on Thursday was very brief. The court did not have time that day to review any of the evidence or start the jury selection process. The judge informed the court that Tuesday, April 4th would be the first day for evidence review. She ordered Katie to appear at 8:30am on the 4th and then dismissed her. Katie’s attorney and the prosecute then met with the judge in her chambers.
We are somewhat frustrated at the delay in getting the process started, fulling thinking that more ground would have been covered on Thursday, then resume on Monday. (We knew Friday was a court holiday.) However, we chose to take this time to review next steps over the next few days as a welcomed opportunity.
